Macquarie Bank no longer requires a degree for trainee professional roles. This was confirmed in the Australian Financial Review, November 1, 2022, in an article titled “Meet the teenager with no degree who landed a job at Macquarie”.
If you are an outstanding candidate, there is no need to spend 3 years at university before you start your career.
You will need real world knowledge and skills relevant to a trainee role however. That is the key to getting an interview.
If you wish to be an analyst or investment manager, then you need real world knowledge and practical skills, analyzing companies, analyzing value, analyzing the macro outlook, and building portfolios.
If you have this knowledge and experience you will be in a very strong position to impress prospective employers.
